To view transcriptions
There are approximately 16,500 transcribed texts in SAMLA. The material includes both typed and handwritten texts. The transcriptions serve two functions. They are the basis for free-text search and a support for reading the sources. Not all transcriptions are of the same quality, and they are only intended as a support.
If an individual object in the collections is transcribed, you will see an icon resembling a typed sheet in the list of search results in the metadata.
When you click on the document, "Transcribed text" will appear in the sidebar under "View."
If you click on the link, you will see the transcribed text.
You can get a parallel view by clicking on the icon on the far right of the menu above the transcription.
